ARMED FORCES BREWING COMPANY is seeking an experienced, self-driven, high energy Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to join our Executive Team. As our CMO, you will own, lead, develop, and manage the overall marketing vision, messaging, and strategies for our company, our Military beer brands, and drive results – measured through increased revenues, brand awareness, customer acquisition and monetization.
Job Duties:
- Act as the company’s spokesperson; the “voice of the brands”, for external relations (media, brand awareness, trade events, promotional events, etc.).
- Reports to the CEO
- As a member of the Leadership team, works closely with all other members
- Leads and works closely with Marketing Management, Sales Management and stays involved throughout the organization
- “Listen” to the trends of the beer and Military markets and direct the market research efforts of the company
- Set marketing goals and objectives
- Plan, implement and manage marketing strategy and oversee its day-to-day implementation and success
- Contribute to the overall growth of the company
- Create, review, and manage our content marketing strategies
- Lead a creative and analytical Team of content creators and growth hackers
- Liaise directly with our CEO, Advisory Board, and other departments to guide a unified approach to production, pricing, sales, distribution etc. that meets market demands
- Creatively lead the Marketing organization to produce distinctive, unforgettable, effective on-brand materials for all packaging, point-of-sale, and other promotional materials and communications.
- Design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR and other marketing efforts across channels (digital, press etc.)
- Work with all Sales and Operations leaders to create and execute a strategy for our Distributor Network.
- Determine KPIs for our marketing department
- Track KPIs on a regular basis and present reports
- Create and present the annual marketing plan and strategy
- Use data and reports to make evidence-based decisions
- Stay up to date with the latest technology
- Stay up to date with the latest best practices
- Design, plan and execute effective marketing campaigns
- Lead and coordinate our Promotions and Team of Brand Ambassadors
- Keep the marketing budget in check
- Create a solid network of strategic partnerships within the Military and retail ecosystems
- Work with the CEO and other leadership to develop our taproom’s marketing and operating plan. Lead the Taproom(s) General Managers and overall Retail Operations organization to achieve that plan
Your Background:
- Must live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia or willing to relocate
- 3+ years of professional marketing experience with a Military faced brand, and/or leadership roles in brand-marketing with regional and/or conglomerate brewing companies
- Proven ability to build and lead extraordinarily successful teams through a collaborative leadership style
- Military Service background and/or fluent in Military speak is a plus
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, and confidence toward adapting to the unique voice and mission of Armed Forces Brewing Company and a beer brand
- A passion for people, our Military community, our country, and the beer industry
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic environment
- An in-depth understanding of the mechanics and culture of digital media, social media platforms, technology, and creative asset management
- Experience in the beer industry retail market space with a demonstrated knowledge of merchandising and customer acquisition
- Creative and technical experience with Photoshop and video editing a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent required
- Must pass a criminal background and credit check
