ARMED FORCES BREWING COMPANY is seeking an experienced Events Coordinator charged with creating, developing & executing dynamic, fun, and engaging promotional events for our military tribute brewing facility, in the Hampton Roads area, and throughout the state of Virginia. Our Events Coordinator is well connected in our Hampton Roads market space, especially connected in our military and first responder community. Our Events Coordinator will also develop and manage our private event space. You will also work closely with all other management team members and manage your own event Mercenary crew. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who loves working with the general public and our military and first responder sectors.

Job Duties:

  • Support the company’s core values, mission and focus
  • Must have a patriotic mindset and an undying respect for military service
  • Create, develop, and execute dynamic and engaging events and promotions.
  • Work with the management team and staff to develop programming and other sales strategies for achieving specified taproom and event sales goals
  • Develop and maintain new partnerships with US military installations, Veteran associations, first responder organizations, non-profits, local businesses, musicians, tourism organizations, retail chains, and more
  • Create and nurture new leads for corporate and private events
  • Assist with developing rental program through booking and coordinating private events and day-of execution
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to promote on and off premise programming
  • Partner with the General Manager to plan & execute events in the Brewery
  • Support AFBC public relations/outreach efforts in the local community
  • Coordinate and lead your Mercenary team throughout the events to ensure success
  • Provide a weekly event calendar for internal team and provide monthly event updates to share with local businesses and residences
  • Organize and maintain event assets and equipment
  • Strong personal and professional organizational skills, manage time effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and similar software
  • Leadership and ability to work with different personalities.
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset, focused on the tasks and goals.
  • A proficient knowledge of local, state, and federal alcohol laws

Your Background:

  • At least 3 years of event planning and management experience (noted experience with corporate events. Veteran events, fund raisers, festivals, and small to large venue concerts)
  • Public Relations and Media coordination and management
  • Vendor coordination and management
  • Booking entertainment and catering
  • Even staff recruiting, planning, and management
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in creating and managing event budgets
  • Coordination and management of multiple schedules of team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools like Power Point, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • A licensed and insured vehicle for some travel
  • Must live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia
  • Ability to work remote and on-site
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Must pass a criminal background and credit check
