Beertender

ARMED FORCES BREWING COMPANY is seeking Beertenders for our taproom and event operations. You will be on the front lines serving our great American beers and impeccable service to America’s heroes. You love Armed Forces Brewing Company beers and our country and can’t stop talking about it.

Job Duties:

• Support the company’s core values, mission and focus
• Serves patrons draft beer from taproom bar.
• Discusses our beers and describes a variety of beer styles.
• Keeps the bar area clean and organized, including washing glasses, restocking supplies, and taking out the trash.
• Handles cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Creates a welcoming and lively atmosphere, encouraging customers to relax, socialize, and enjoy the brewery’s offerings.
• Utilizes POS management system for all sales.
• Ensures that all guests are of legal drinking age and follow responsible drinking practices.
• Daily cleaning of taproom facilities to help maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Maintains positive attitude and have fun while promoting the brewery’s brand and mission.
• Assists team members as needed to create the most optimal guest experience.

Minimum qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the craft beer or bartending industry
• Cicerone Certification a plus
• Passion for craft beer
• Virginia RSVP certification and TIPS certification a plus
• Cicerone Certification a plus
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset, focused on the tasks and goals.
• Able to follow all safety requirements
• Maintains professionalism and maturity
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
• Listening and comprehending instructions from guests and coworkers over taproom noise

Working Environment:

• Flexible work schedule and availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Work with challenging patrons and fast paced environment of a crowded taproom
• Work in close proximity to working brewery (noise equipment, brewing odors)
• Follow all OSHA, DOH and all city, state and federal regulations

Physical Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods (up to 8 hour shift)
• Able to reach, bend, stoop, pulling, grasping and crouch.
• Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, shoulders and/or fingers.
• Regularly required to lift and move weight ranging up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate – $7-$12 Based On Experience, plus tips
